It's Living Wage week!
Did you know we are a National Living Wage Employer?

Since November 2017, ARU has proudly been an accredited Living Wage Employer, and anyone employed through ARU Temps working within ARU will receive £9.50 per hour as the minimum pay rate.

But what exactly does this mean?

The real Living Wage is based on the cost of living and is voluntarily paid by nearly 6,000 UK employers who believe a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.

Living Wage is the accredited wage of £9.50 per hour, which is higher than the government minimum due to being calculated to ensure employees earn a wage that meets the cost of living. It is not a mandatory rate of pay unless you adhere to the accreditation – which Anglia Ruskin University do!

The rate is reviewed and updated every November and all employers who are accredited are required to implement the rise within 6 months.

But what's the difference?

The National living wage and National minimum wage are the legal minimum amount paid to staff and set by the Government; these rates are updated in April each year. Whereas Living Wage is voluntary.
