Video Conferencing Implementation Internship

Pay rate: £9.30ph

Location: remote working and/or Peterborough based covid safe office

Hours: Full time

Term: 8 weeks 

Our client, Citizens Advice Peterborough (CAP), are seeking to recruit an intern to research and implement video conferencing facilities.

The role

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, CAP closed their face to face drop-in and appointment service for clients and switched to an entirely digital approach. Clients currently are able to contact them for advice via telephone, email and web chat; but these vulnerable clients prefer a face to face approach. 

As such they require someone to scope out and help to implement video conferencing as a way for their vulnerable clients to engage face to face whilst also protecting the health and wellbeing of advisers. Duties include:

  • Consider the requirements for a video conferencing system
  • Research various different video conferencing platforms
  • Assess the pros/cons and associated costs of video conferencing platforms
  • Liaise with the management team to select the most suitable platform to meet requirements
  • Create and deliver some basic training to advisers
  • Produce a simple user guide/handbook for advisers
  • Troubleshoot any issues during initial rollout
The successful candidate will

Person spec:
  • Graduate from a relevant degree and/or an interest in the project brief
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service
  • Confident communicator able to converse with all levels of a business and present ideas in a persuasive manner
  • Open and approachable
  • Ability to sift through information and extract what is relevant proficient computer user
  • Enthusiastic energy
  • Self-starter who remains motivated to work whilst located remotely
  • Able to work autonomously with initiative.
  • Organised and efficient at prioritising own workload.
  • Respect for views, values and cultures that are different to their own
  • A positive attitude to self-development and assessment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to recognise their own limits and boundaries in the role
