Sales & Marketing Trainee

Pay rate: £10.26 per hour +BONUS
Location: Chelmsford campus
Hours: Part time
Term: Temp to perm for the right candidate
Start date: June 2021


Our client, an established leader in 3D laser technology within the process industry, is currently seeking to recruit a Sales & Marketing Trainee to join their Chelmsford based team.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Commercial Director from whom, there is opportunity to learn a range of practical skills and techniques to enhance and develop your talent for sales.  Achievement of set targets could result in bonus payment rewards in addition to your hourly pay rate.

The role:

  • Researching client base to identify varied client types and subsequent approaches to encourage new business, industries include: Chemical Storage, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage
  • Creating a marketing/business development plan to research, execute and analyse new and existing clients
  • Updating of marketing systems including: Wordpress website, Company LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter pages
  • Manage a Mailchimp account to keep mail list up to date with case studies and services
  • Update internal CRM system and generate reports as necessary
  • Devising strategies to best sell services in the face of a market downturn
  • Making targeted sales calls to prospective clients
  • Researching and identifying appropriate client contacts to target for business
  • Developing a portfolio of successful projects and customer case studies to promote services across our networks
  • Competitor analysis to identify best practice, opportunities and threats
  • Providing superior customer service to clients by whatever means necessary 
  • Demonstrating products and services as deemed necessary by clients and management
  • Scheduling appointments and meetings
  • Answering client queries
  • Assisting with set up and demonstrations at trade shows to present the quality and uses of our service
 
Person spec:

  • Currently studying towards a relevant degree e.g. Business, Marketing
  • Very confident communicator who is excited to undertake ‘cold calling’ with an enthusiastic and positive mindset
  • Previous experience of successfully working towards targets whilst under pressure 
  • An established understanding of the marketing mix for business development including print, web and social media platforms 
  • Resilient from rejection and self-motivated to persist in the face of adversity
  • Competent researcher
  • Passionate and driven
  • Excellent time management skills with demonstrable experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Organised and efficient at prioritising own workload
  • Motivated to achieve bonus payments
  • Able to work autonomously with initiative
