Job Description

Job Title: Research Fellow for Allied Health
 
Location: Remote working
 
Start Date: 15th April 2024
 
Proposed End Date: 25th June 2024
 
Hours: 20hrs per week (4 days - 10am to 3pm)
 
Rate of pay: £18.13ph
 
Duties:
  • The aim is to derive a core outcome set (which is an agreed set of outcome measures which should be measured and 
    reported in clinical trials and specific health settings) for people with non-arthritic hip pain. 
  • The research fellow will recruit individuals from identified hip pain groups on social media (e.g., Facebook and Twitter / X).
  • They will hold an online focus group will be held with about 6 participants to co-develop the research question, 
    recruitment strategy and qualitative interview questions. 
  • Following this, they will conduct qualitative interviews to identify a core outcome set (up to 15 participants). The focus group and interviews will be held online.
  • The research fellow will perform thematic analyses alongside another member of the research team.
  • Lastly a Delphi survey will be constructed to gain consensus about the outcome set.  
Requirements:
  • PhD / near completion or postgraduate
  • Research undertaken in a relevant field, experience of writing concise but comprehensive reports/papers
  • undertaken applied qualitative research projects which includes data analysis, project management
  • Experience of health services research and a record of publishing peer reviewed research papers would be beneficial
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Comprehensive understanding of qualitative research
  • Ability to critically analyse data using qualitative techniques
  • Ability to meet deadlines, sometimes under pressure
  • Knowledge of research design and methods
  • Ability to work as part of a team
