Our client, a leading refurbishment contractor is offering a fantastic opportunity to join their team as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor / Estimator on a temp to perm basis

Dates: ASAP for 14 weeks (Permanent after 14 weeks)
Times: Part time – 2 days a week Mon/Wed/Fri can be flexible on days.
Hours: 8am to 4pm with an hour for lunch
Location: Brentwood, Essex
Pay rate: £13.00 per hour
Role Overview:
As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you will join their team at their office in Brentwood. This role offers a blend of office based work and site visits, providing hands-on experience in estimating and quantity surveying. You will support the Commercial Team in various tasks including tender documentation preparation and analysis of returns from their subcontractors, cost recording, document control and winning work. Under the guidance of their Director of Surveying, you will have the opportunity to undertake independent projects as you progress in your position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with tender processes from issuing tender enquiries, analysing tender returns, preparation of main tender return to the client
- Measurement of drawings and marking up drawings for handover packs to site team
- Support efficient management of reports and document control
- Conduct regular site visits as required by project demands
- Work closely with Commercial department to gain practical experience and guidance
- Progress into independent project work as experience and knowledge grows
- Continue with your degree and they will assist with any practical experience they can give
Requirements:
- Minimum five GCSE’s at grade 9-4 or A-C must include English and Maths
- HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying/construction based course and study towards degree in Quantity Surveying
- Hold a full current UK driving license
- Inquisitive and enthusiastic with a keenness to learn
- Computer literate with a strong knowledge and experience of Excel
- Confident speaker with excellent communication skills
