ARU Spring Internship Scheme 2025: Junior Architectural Assistant Intern

Pay rate: £12.60 per hour
Location: Office based in Broomfield, Chelmsford
Hours: 20 hours per week
Term: 10 weeks
Start date: 24/03/2025

The role

Set up and present feasibility drawings
Set up design documents for pre-application/planning submissions
Accommodation schedules
Attend team meetings
Provide assistance to members of the team using photoshop and InDesign

Person spec

Current ARU undergraduate student from a relevant degree course e.g. Architecture
Good Photoshop and InDesign Skills
Knowledge of AutoCAD preferable
Knowledge of 3D Software’s such as Sketch-up and Revit
Good communication skills

Learning outcomes
At the end of the internship the successful intern should be able to demonstrate:

Develop presentation skills and understand how the design team presents drawings and documents ready for the client/ consultant
Understanding of the day-to-day activities, show understanding of the standard practices used by the design team
Experience working within a team, and engaging with colleagues
