Job Description

Internship title: Student Mental Health Partnership Evaluation Intern
 
Proposed start date: w/c 20th April
 
Duration: 10 weeks

Hours: 20hrs per week
 
Location: Cambridge
 
Rate of pay: £13.45ph
 
Duties:
  • Planning an evaluation of the internal and external partnerships delivered by ARU to support student mental health.
  • Working with stakeholders across ARU to understand partnership work between our Counselling & Wellbeing Service and TeamARU, useage and student experience of campus sensory rooms, and partnerships with external organisations including Pets as Therapy and Earth & Mind.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness and impact of these partnerships in the broader context of ARU’s Access and Participation work which seeks to address student mental health barriers and strengthen community and belonging.
  • Managing the collection of a range of quantitative and qualitative data from stakeholders.
  • Written evaluation and presentation of the results either via video, or to the University’s Access and Participation Steering Group.
Requirements:
  • ARU student
  • Ability to work with quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding and interest in student mental health and wellbeing
Learning outcomes:

At the end of the internship the student will be able to demonstrate:

  • Planning and evaluation skills
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Data presentation and report writing
Project deliverables:
  • Completed evaluation plan for internal and external partnerships, assessing their contribution to student wellbeing with a focus on black and minority ethnic students; mature students and students from the ‘most deprived areas of the country’ (IMD 1 and 2- this means places where residents canface greater challenges in employment, health outcomes, educational attainment, housing accessibility, and local crime levels.)
  • Completed analysis of data collected during the project to assess the partnerships and evidence of proactive collaboration with students to improve design, development, delivery and evaluation of student led interventions which seek to improve continuation and awards gaps and remove barriers to success.
