The role
We have an opportunity to work with us on a project with an amazing UK-based charity to support the delivery of a new website. Working with our team for training, guidance and mentoring, the selected individual will get hands-on experience across the ten-week lifecycle of a project.
- Developing a content map outlining website structure and navigation.
- Designing wireframes and user journeys to enhance usability and accessibility.
- Writing and editing high-quality, engaging content optimised for search engines (SEO).
- Sourcing and editing images, ensuring optimal performance for web.
- Conducting keyword research and implementing SEO best practices.
- Creating a detailed brief for the website developer and collaborating on the project’s execution.
- Conducting testing, optimisation, and final preparations for launch by week 7.
- Coordinating the live launch and post-launch monitoring.
- Participating in team meetings and client discussions to gain hands-on experience in professional collaboration.
Person spec
- Current ARU undergraduate student from a relevant course such as Marketing, Digital Media, Business or Design.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive, organised, and eager to learn.
- Basic knowledge of SEO, content management systems (CMS), or UX principles (preferred).
- Familiarity with digital tools (preferred).
Learning outcomes
At the end of the internship the successful intern should be able to demonstrate:
- Project management across the whole lifecycle of a marketing project with references to support a CV.
- Proficiency in website development processes, including SEO, UX, and content strategy.
- Practical experience in digital marketing, copywriting, and project management.
- Enhanced skills in collaboration, client communication, and professional tools like CMS and AI-driven solutions.
- In-depth experience working with a PR and marketing agency.
