Schools and Colleges Student Ambassadors - Writtle
 
Inspire the next generation of students

Summary of role: Schools and Colleges Student Ambassadors are paid to support activities and events in the Schools and Colleges Team. You will work with young people ages 10-18 at a range of events, and of course members of the public, to ignite their ambitions and inspire them to consider university as a choice for them. We are looking for enthusiastic and responsible students to join the scheme. You’ll need to be enthusiastic and willing to grow your skills, alongside demonstrating responsibility so we can entrust you to act as the face of ARU. You will attend a training and assessment day, which will involve a selection process to determine your suitability for the role.
 
This role is for Writtle based students only! 
 
 Specific duties of the role:
  •  Leading campus tours
  •  Working open/applicant days
  •  Telling your story of applying to and studying at ARU
  •  Return to your old school/college to deliver a talk about progressing to ARU (eligible schools only)
  •  Visiting schools and colleges
  •  Working Careers Fairs or national UCAS fairs
  •  Faculty specific events related to your subject
  •  Other ad-hoc opportunities
 We welcome applications from anybody at any level of study, so long as you are a student at ARU. This year, we are especially interested in Student Ambassadors who went to local schools/colleges in the following regions to work on Back-to-School projects:
  • Essex
  • Norfolk
  • Suffolk
  • Cambridgeshire (including Peterborough)
  • Bedfordshire
  • London
  • Kent
  • Leicestershire
  • Lincolnshire

How to apply:
 
Step 1: If you have already completed a profile and have successfully registered with ARU Temps, please click ‘Apply’.
 
New students: Please create a profile with ARU Temps and complete the required fields when you click ‘Apply’. (To complete your registration, you will need to show your Right to Work documents to a member of the team, who will be in contact).
 
Step 2: The Schools and Colleges Engagement team will review your application and invite you to register for a training and assessment day.
 
Step 3: Attend the training and assessment day to learn more about the role and the skills required to become a Student Ambassador. You will get the opportunity to meet some new people too. During this time we will complete a DBS check so you can work Campus events.
 
Step 4: After successful completion and confirmation of your training, you can apply for job opportunities, develop your skills, and start earning!
 
 
Training Dates
 
You will not be paid for these sessions as they are requirement to qualify, however subsequent training - such as Careers Fair training - is paid at the living wage rate.
 
Training sessions available (you only need to attend one):
  1. Monday 13th October 9.30am - 12.30pm
  2. Tuesday 14th October 1.30pm - 4.30pm
  3. Wednesday 15th October 1.30pm - 4.30pm
