The University of Cambridge SU runs its annual Freshers’ Fair for
students on Parker’s Piece in Cambridge; approximately 18,000 people attend
over the two days. The Freshers’ Fair is a chance to showcase everything
Cambridge has to offer new and current University of Cambridge students, particularly for student
societies to engage with students.

p/hr

Dates: The fair will take place on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th October 2025. We are seeking ARU students willing to commit to assist us in running the fair at a range of times (from 7am until 7.30pm across both days). We will also be looking for a few stewards to assist with setting up for the fair on Monday 6th October: 10.00-16.00
Compulsory Paid Training on campus: Tuesday 30th September 5pm OR Wednesday 1st October 2pm (You must
be available for ONE of these mandatory training sessions if you want to work any of the days
below)

Duties will be very varied but examples include:
- Replenishing fair supplies
- Lifting tables
- Monitoring toilets
- Answering questions of
visitors and stall-holders
- Directing queues and
vehicles, and responding to any manner of problems as they arise;
There'll be lots of standing around inside the
marquee, outdoors on Parker's Piece and time spent on your feet, but the
environment is buzzing and fun.
We'll expect temps to muck-in and be part of a much larger team helping to
bring the event to life. The placement is expected to be enjoyable and requires
Stewards to have a positive attitude and enjoy the experience; be helpful and
hard-working; and capable of responding to simple instructions with a
smile!. Please only apply if you are comfortable with lifting heavy
items.
